Verizon iPhone 4 and iPhone 5: What We Can Say So Far. The much hyped and much awaited Verizon iPhone is rumored to hit store shelves early next year but there still are many doubts as there has been no official announcement or confirmation regarding the release of the device.

No one knows for sure when the Verizon iPhone would be available but recently several news outlets had claimed that Apple and Verizon were getting ready to release the iPhone on Verizon network as early as January next year. Like always, Apple and Verizon had not made any official announcement in this regard so far.

Traditionally, Apple has released a new iPhone generation each summer, which means that the Cupertino-based firm would release the fifth generation iPhone or the iPhone 5 in June this year and it is expected that the device would be released on Verizon’s network as well. At present, AT&T is the exclusive carrier of the device in the US.

It is to be noted that both Verizon and AT&T are gearing up to roll out their 4G networking in 2011 and it is expected that Apple would time the release of the iPhone 5 around the 4G rollouts of these carriers. But the question is: Will Apple really release a Verizon iPhone 5 a mere six months or so after releasing the Verizon iPhone 4? No one knows the answer.

Verizon is the largest carrier in the country when it comes to subscription and millions of the users consider Verizon to have the superior network than AT&T. Many are confused over whether they should switch to Verizon or not if Apple releases the device on its network.
